For 3 years I worked as an associate actor consultant with Power Train, a hugely innovative and exciting corporate training company that specialised in creating total reality settings to deliver their mould-breaking transformational approach to behaviour change and modification within private and public organisations, from CEOs to frontline staff.

This was corporate roleplay at its finest – as actor consultants we would play the parts of challenging customers and team members so that the participants could practice adapting their style to suit the needs of whomever they were dealing with.

I worked with railway companies (Chiltern Railways, Northern Ireland Railways), telecommunications companies (Virgin Mobile, Vodafone, BT), and financial institutions (Scottish Widows and VISA Europe).

I designed four one-day, theatre-based, personal and corporate development workshops for BrightonHove Theatre Company:

• Presentations and Speech-Making
• Excellence in Customer Care
• Coaching Skills for Life and Work
• and Other People’s Shoes (identifying difference, improving empathy and developing communication).

For four years I taught my course Is Voice Work From Home For You? to help actors and civilians decide if building a business in voiceover might work as a part- or full-time career.

I have taught study skills and effective communication in college and the wider community through Brighton Metropolitan College.

I am a dialect coach for film and television, specialising in UK regional accents.

I have appeared in training videos for:

• Sainsburys
• The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions
• The Shopkeepers’ Association.

I was a drama counsellor and workshop leader for the Prince’s Trust at a residential training course for the long-term unemployed.  This involved teaching assertiveness training, interview technique and social skills improvement.

I have worked for UK government bodies and commercial businesses including the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Daewoo, KPMG, Royal London Insurance, Gilette, BP, WorldCom, ntl, Vodafone, Pearl Assurance and Kimberly-Clark.
